Obituary for Helen Brown Veverka
Helen Brown Veverka,90, of Apollo Beach, FL, went to be with her Lord on October 12th. Helen was born in Elizabeth, NJ, the second of three daughters born to William & Katie Brown. Helen spent most of her life in Clark, NJ, raising a family and working for several years in administrative positions with the government of Clark and also in the Human Resources Department at Childrens Specialized Hospital in Mountainside, NJ. She was a devoted Christian and a lover of Christian music, spending many years at Osceola Presbyterian Church in Clark, NJ and St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Sun City Center, FL as a valued member of their choirs. She enjoyed spending winters in Jensen Beach, FL, organizing games, parties and celebrations. Helen & her husband relocated to Apollo Beach in 2006 to escape the New Jersey winters. Helen was preceded in death by Marvin, her loving husband of 58 years; her son James & eldest sister Edith Brown Roberts & brother-in-law John Roberts. She is survived by her son Alan & wife Barbara of Carolina Shores, NC; her son-in-law Richard Dilts of Parrish, FL; her sister Claire Brown Miller & husband Jack of Little Egg Harbor, NJ; her loving companion Gerry Munger; her grandsons Brian Veverka & wife Angie of Charlotte, NC; Jason Veverka & wife Laura of Raleigh, NC; Kevin & wife Monica of Wake Forest, NC; granddaughter Kristen Veverka Pratt & husband Queshan of Morrisville, NC; her loving great-grandchildren Dylan, Colin, Luke, Kaitlyn, Kristina, Nathan, Harrison & Andrew. Helen is also survived by many nieces & nephews who loved her dearly.
A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for Saturday, October 26, 2019, at 4:00 P.M. at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 1239 Del Webb Blvd, West, Sun City Center, FL 33573.
In Lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in Helen's memory to LifePath Hospice, 3723 Upper Creek Drive, Ruskin, FL 33573 OR St. Andrew Presbyterian Church.
