Marie Estelle Gordon, 84, of Riverview FL, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025, in Riverview, FL. She was born on August 11th, 1940, in New York,
and lived a life marked by deep faith, boundless compassion, and quiet strength.
A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and nurse, she poured herself into the care of others—both in her profession and in her family.
She was known for her sharp mind, her incredible memory, and her ability to recite scripture like it lived in her bones.
She was a voracious reader, a fiercely loyal friend, and the one everyone turned to in times of need. Cooking was a sacred time, especially during the holidays,
when her meals brought the family together in warmth and laughter.
She loved deeply, gave generously, and carried more than her share with grace.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Gordon, and son, Kenneth Porter and her parents, Wilbur and Mildred Thompson. She is survived by her (Daughter) Arline M. Best (Michael), (Grandson) Robert H. Cutis, (Granddaughter) Samantha M. Curtis, (Great-Grandsons) Robert S. Curtis and Rhys H. Curtis.
Services will be held on Saturday, August 9, at 12:00pm with a visitation one hour prior to services at Southern Funeral Care, Riverview, FL
