Obituary for Dwight E. Shingledecker

SHINGLEDECKER, Dwight E., resident of Valrico, FL, passed away Saturday, August 11, 2018, at the age of 96. Born in Columbus, OH, he was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and his son, Timothy E. Shingledecker. He is survived by his wife, Joey; sons, James L. (Connie) Shingledeckerand and Xon (Julie) Shingledecker; granddaughters, Keri (Thomas) Driscoll, Jessica (Amy) Turner; great-granddaughter, Olivia and sister-in-law, Ruth Shingledecker. He served three years in the US Army Air Corps during World War II and was a retired Project Engineer with the Ohio Bell Telephone Company for 40 years. A member of Apostles Lutheran Church, Dwight was an avid golfer and former member and Director of Buckhorn Springs Golf and Country Club. He enjoyed travel and was a member of the Lighthouse Society. He participated in numerous civic organizations including the Masonic Order as Past Master and member; Life Member of Brandon Shrine Club; Past Lieutenant Governor, Ohio District, Kiwanis International; Past 7th District Rear Commodore United States Coast Guard Auxiliary and proud member of the University of South Florida Alumni Association. He enjoyed time spent with friends at Amvets Post 44.
