Marina Costes Abiera, of Riverview, FL passed away peacefully at LifePath Sun City Hospice House in Ruskin, FL on November 17, 2023.
Marina was born June 18, 1936, on the island of Luzon in the Philippines. Marina, a WWII and cancer survivor, attended nursing school in Little Rock, AR.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Eutropia Costes and her brothers, Jose, Leo and Virgil Costes.
She is survived by her husband, Rodolfo Abiera and siblings, Pete and Miriam Costes, Imelda and Ray Armstrong, Aurora Huston, Cheryl and David Moody and Tony and Donna Costes, Jr.
She is also survived by her loving caregivers, son, Joseph and Christina Abiera, and son, Rudolph and Kim Abiera; daughter, Melisa and Bill Cameron; grandchildren, Amber and Scott Pence, Heather Abiera and Mike Oren, Brittany and Shaun Berns, Alexandria Cameron and Joe Porto, Anna Cameron and Will O’Grady, and her great-grandchildren, Blake and Jaxson Abiera Martin, Avery, Kaden and Lilah Berns.
Marina had a special place in her heart for Luna, Waffles and Nacho (family cats) and her beloved Frankie (family dog). She loved to cook, watch old classic movies, read her Bible and spend time on word search puzzles.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at 10 a.m. ET at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 2913 John Moore Road, Brandon, FL 33511.
