Obituary for Jean Gleason Marsicano
Jean Gleason Marsicano

MARSICANO, Jean Gleason, 86, a Tampa and Holmes Beach resident since 1945, passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2012, to be with her beloved husband Charles. Born in Iron Mountain, MI, she met and married our Dad in 1945 while he was stationed with the U.S. Coast Guard in Twin Rivers, WI. Jean was a loving and dedicated wife, Mother, Grandmother and homemaker, with an extraordinary gift for quilting, knitting and sewing. She loved to create beautiful clothes for herself and her family. Our Mom was an avid bridge player and enjoyed long-time friendships with her bridge clubs in Tampa and Holmes Beach. A devout Catholic, she was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Tampa and St. Bernards, Holmes Beach. She was a member of the Christ the King Guild and Women's Club and a member and volunteer with the Tampa Historical Society. She and our Dad also volunteered for many years with Meals on Wheels. Her passion was caring for her husband and five children, and our home was always filled with love, friends and family pets. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles and two grandchildren, Vincent and Tanner and is survived by daughters, Pat and Eileen; sons, John, Gary and Charles, Jr.; 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Our family extends heartfelt gratitude to Kathy, her friend and caregiver, for understanding our mom's illness and giving her such care and devotion.
