NUNNELLY, Claude Farrington, 90, of Brandon, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2013, at Brandon Hospital after complications from a fall that occurred on Thanksgiving Day. Claude was born in Hollow Rock, Tennessee on August 21, 1923. He served his country as a navigator, helping to fly B24 and B29's during WWII. Claude graduated in 1949 from Murray State University in Kentucky. During the 50's he taught industrial arts and coached baseball, football and golf at Jefferson High School, Admiral Farragut Academy and Boca Ciega High School. He was so proud of his "boys" from Jefferson and happy to see many of them go on to distinguished careers. He was married to the love of his life, Leonor, for over 60 years. He retired from Hav-A-Tampa cigar as a supervisor in 1989. Claude loved people, loved to laugh, joke, play golf and enjoyed life to its fullest. He looked forward to seeing his friends at a local doughnut shop. He is survived by his wife, Leonor, his sons, Wade Nunnelly of Brandon and William Scott Nunnelly (Jamie) of Chapel Hill, NC and his grandsons, Joe Nunnelly and Daniel Nunnelly of Brandon, his great grandchildren, his sister-in-law, a niece, and several cousins. A Celebration of Life ceremony will take place 11:30 A.M. Saturday, December 14, 2013, at Southern Funeral Care, 10510 Riverview Drive, Riverview, with the family receiving friends starting at 10:00 A.M.
