Obituary for James Lacy Barfield
James Lacy Barfield, 80, of Valrico FL, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022. A native of Washinton D.C., he spent most of his lifetime in the Tampa Bay area. He was a member at Presbyterian Church of Seffner, PER Brandon Elks #2383, a former Little League District Administrator for Hillsborough County, a past President of Bloomingdale Little League and a former member of Brandon Jaycee's. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jean and granddaughter, Amber. He is survived by his sons, Jay Barfield (Betty) and Jeff Barfield (Dana); daughter, Joy Barfield Griffin; brother, Bob Barfield; sister, Bonnie Johnson; 6 grandchildren, Jimmy Lee (Dora), Leighan (Will), Lacy (Shawn), Ryan, Zach, and Jessica; and 9 great-grandchildren. A service will be conducted at Southern Funeral Care on Monday, August 8, 2022 at 11 AM with family receiving friends one hour prior to services. PER Elks Service will be conducted by Brandon Lodge #2383. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations to be made to Meals on Wheels or Harry Anna Trust.
