Obituary for Richard Francis Blackwood
Richard Francis Blackwood, 85, of Brandon, passed away Monday, July 25, 2022. A native of Aurora, IL, he had resided here since 1976. He was Catholic and a member of the Brandon Masonic Lodge, Egypt Temple Shrine, Brandon Elks Lodge. Richard owned a trucking company in Aurora before relocating to Brandon to start his career in law enforcement. He retired from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office after 24 years.
Richard is survived by his wife, Mia; children, Debbie Frischknecht, Troy Frem (Kelly Gagnon), Mia Nicole Frem Yacinich (Justin Yacinich), Scott Blackwood (Nancy Blackwood) and Jodi Blackwood; Children of his heart, Sharadon Robins, Teva Faulkenburg and C.J. Drake; Grandchildren, Cain, Cole, Logan, Harley, Jordan, Jenna and great grandson Jaxtyn; Sisters in laws, Sheri Illingworth, Sandie Johnson and Cindy Jost (Steve Jost).
The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M.Saturday, August 6, 2022. Friends and family will make personal remarks during the visitation.
