Obituary for Donald Waldemar Nelson
Donald W. Nelson, 98, of Valrico, passed away on Monday, August 30, 2021. A native of Minneapolis, MN, he had resided here for 37 years coming from Vero Beach, FL. He was a US Navy veteran, a member of the First Baptist Church of Brandon, Kiwanis Club of Greater Brandon, was Kiwanis Layman of the Year and involved with Gideon's International. He is survived by his wife, Judith; step-sons, David and Brian Patrick; daughters, Marilyn Cose and Beverly Collier; sister, Marleen Urback; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life service will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 2, 2021, at First Baptist Church of Brandon, with the family receiving friends from 1:30 until service time. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Gideon's International.
