Obituary for Paul Thorpe Wakefield
Fair winds and turquoise waters to Paul Wakefield. Paul, a long-time sailor, Air Force Veteran, and wonderful husband (of nearly 46 years) passed away on August 25, 2021 at age 85. Paul was a loving Father who taught his daughter, Sari Wakefield, to sail at age six. He held an exciting career working with the Apollo Space Missions and the Titan Launch Team at Lockheed Martin before retiring at age 62 to enjoy RVing and sailing. Paul was a provider for his family, who loved the Lord, the water, his wife's amazing steak dinners, and his daughter, Sari.
Paul is survived by his wife, Sally Wakefield of 45 years, and daughter, Sari Wakefield. He is also survived by a son, Cameron Wakefield and daughter, Elaina Beth Wakefield.
Graveside services will be held at 12:30 PM, Monday, August 30, 2021, at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Davis Island Yacht Club Youth Sailing Foundation.
