Obituary for Rosemarie Ottilie Newcomb
Rosemarie O. Newcomb 86, went to be with her Heavenly Father on May 28, 2021 surrounded by her family. She and her husband Harold W Newcomb shared a loving and devoted marriage for 65 years. Rosemarie was born on Feb. 14, 1935 in Stuttgart, Germany to Wilhelm Seifritz and Christine P. Hamann Seifritz. She was the youngest in her family. She is predeceased by her brother Werner Seifritz and her sisters Edith Rienhardt and Irene Ziegerer.
She met her husband in Germany in 1955 and they married one year later. After he completed his Air Force assignment in July 1957, they came to the United States. She proudly became an American citizen and they moved to Florida in 1964 where they raised their four wonderful children.
Rosemarie was an artist at heart and studied at Valencia Community College where at the age of 44 she earned her Associates Degree with honors. Rosemarie received a Patent for her unique “Method for Producing Nature Prints”, (Patent #4279200), on July 21, 1981. She evolved into an amazing Multi Media Artist and blessed so many with her gift.
At the same time, she started working as a German Tour Guide throughout the state of Florida. She delighted in showing others the “real” Florida that she so treasured. She tour guided for about 10 years and continued to expand her art work.
She had a great passion for travel and adventures. From 2000 to 2018 she and her husband Harold traveled every summer throughout Canada, Newfoundland and the entire United States including driving their camper from Florida to Alaska 3 times. Everywhere she went she made friends with other artists. One of her favorite areas in the United States were the Big Horn Mountains in WY, where she would pick flowers, press them and made cards to give away. She had a great love for the Southwest and the Native American culture. Several times she was asked which tribe she was from or what is your number when she purchased something.
In 2005 she joined the First United Methodist Church in Clermont, Florida celebrating her strong faith in God and his son Jesus Christ.
Rosemarie leaves behind the love of her life Harold and their four children, Jannet (Curtis) Jamison of Golden, CO, Beverly (Keith) Campbell of Tampa, FL, Tina (Bob) Seitz of Orlando, FL and Andy (Lisa) Newcomb of Monroe, NC. She also has 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren who were blessed to call her “Omi”. She will be truly missed by her nieces, nephews and cousins still living in both the United States and Europe.
A Celebration of her life will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 26, 2021, at the First United Methodist Church of Clermont.
