Obituary for Vonda Nadine Bowman
Vonda Nadine Bowman, 51 of Brandon Florida passed away on Wednesday 2/10/2021. Vonda was preceded in death by her Husband Donnie Bowman of 26 years, Father Joseph Turner II and her maternal and paternal grandparents. Vonda is survived by her mother Bernie Howard, brother David Turner, son Queston Harvey, nephews Matthew and Jason Turner and cousins.
Vonda was a Tampa native and lived most of her life in Brandon, FL. Vonda was married for 26 years to Donnie Bowman.
Vonda fought two long years with her battle with cancer and was a champion through the entire process. She kept a positive outlook and pushed through the pain. Not only was she a selfless help to her family and loved ones, but Vonda also served the Lord and was instrumental in her local church. Vonda was a faithful member and staff at The Refuge Church where she attended and ran several facets of the ministry, including executive assistant to the Pastor, Outreach Director, finance board and many other areas. The Refuge Church’s annual Thanksgiving Feeding will be dedicated to Vonda as one of her last wishes and requests. Vonda was the organizer and coordinator of this staple “Thanksfeeding” each year.
Vonda loved Owls and she was very witty. She was quick on her feet and always had a hilarious comeback to any situation- you couldn’t get much past her! Although she did not like speaking in front of people or a crowd, she would stretch herself at times when she was passionate about something. Vonda will be remembered as loyal, selfless, admirable, and kind. She left an impression on all who met her because of her kindness, care, grace, and love. She was a great daughter, an amazing mother, stellar wife, and a close and loyal friend.
Vonda will be missed greatly but all who love her take comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering and is in Heaven with her Savior and loved ones.
