Obituary for Audrey Elaine Gillespie
Audrey Elaine Gillespie, 84, of Plant City, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2020. A life-long resident of the area, she has always been very involved in her community and church. She served as homeroom mom for her children and was on the planning committee for the annual Law Enforcement Banquet for 57 years. In her earlier years, she served as a song leader and Ladies Auxiliary president. She was a Sunday school teacher for many years and still worked in the church nursery and was a member of Annie H. Schneider Chapter No 327 Order of the Eastern Star. In 1979, she joined HighPoint Church of Brandon (founded First Pentecostal Church of Brandon), was co-leader of the HighPoint Church Meals on Wheels program and was an integral part of every event at the church in some way. She served until her Savior called her home. She will be forever missed and there will be a void. She is survived by her husband, Wiley; sons, Larry and Michael Gillespie; daughters, Patricia Lynn (Robert) Zaccaro and Ruth Elaine (David) Goldsberry; 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Graveside services for the family will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, July 11, 2020, at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Brandon. Due to government guidelines, attendance will be limited to the family (up to 50). In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the HighPoint Church of Brandon Meals on Wheels program (hpcbrandon.org).
