GRATE, Wilma Lenore
GRATE, Wilma, 85, last child of June and Emmet Pifer, went to be with the Lord April 7, 2007. A graduate of Old Edinboro H.S., she married Myrle Grate Sr. and moved from Mill Village, PA to Juno, FL in 1957 where they owned and operated White Sales Trailer Court and Sales. Active in church as a teacher and playing the piano, was past PTA President and past Worthy Matron, Order of the Easter Star, W.P.B., FL. Retired to Tallahassee in 1979 and became a member of Thomasville Rd. Baptist Church and associate member of Walnut Creek Baptist Church, Franklin, N.C. Moved from Tallahassee to Brandon, FL in 2006 and joined Southside Baptist Church, Brandon. She saw that her children would know the Lord. Survived by 4 children, son, Dr. Myrle Grate Jr. and wife Joan of Tallahassee, twin daughters Lois, and husband Pastor Pete Vande Weghe, of Brandon, FL, Dianne, and husband Thomas Rossell, of Balm, FL, son Richard Grate of W.P.B., FL, 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, a niece, 4 nephews, and a host of friends and relatives in PA, FL and NC. Preceeded in death by her husband Myrle Grate Sr. of almost 65 years, her parents, one sister and 2 brothers. Services will be conducted in Tallahassee at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Southside Baptist Church Building Fund, 415 W. Lumsden Road, Brandon, FL 33511.
