Obituary for Walter Glenn Jackson
Walter Glenn "Wally" Jackson
JACKSON, Walter Glenn "Wally", was born in Pensacola, Florida on December 22, 1947. He passed away with his daughter by his side on May 20, 2016 in Brandon, Florida. Wally graduated from Pensacola High School in 1965 and Hillsborough Community College, Tampa, Florida. He was a former Florida game warden, retired from Hillsborough County Sheriff's Deputy and auxiliary for the Florida Highway Patrol. He enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid fisherman, hunter, blueberry picker, and cook. He loved to play Santa Claus at Christmas, celebrating the season of Jesus' birth. It gave him joy to see all the little children happy and he loved hearing their wishes. He, himself, was a jolly ol' man! He was a lot like his Mother because he never met a stranger. Wally loved being with family, especially if it involved a cookout or fish fry. He appreciated being surrounded by loved ones and telling stories or just making everyone laugh. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Jackson of Clermont, FL; brother, David Jackson (Donna) and sister, Barbara Jackson Scott (Tom); his daughter, Richelle Jackson Salmon (William); his grandchildren, Zachary and Danielle Salmon, Dustin (Saundra) and Christopher (Alison) Jackson and great granddaughters, Sereniti (Dustin) and Hannah (Christopher) Jackson; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son, Christopher Bryann Jackson; his parents, Richard and Ellen Jackson; and brother, Frank Clayton Jackson. A celebration of his life will be held Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at his daughter's home in Riverview, Fl.
