Walter C. "WC" Herndon
HERNDON, W.C., of Valrico, passed away after a lengthy illness on Friday, November 28, 2014. Born in Madison, FL on November 14, 1930 to Josie and Walter Herndon, he is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Helen; their three children, Debbie, and her sons, Rusty and Ryan; 2 sons, Mike and Robert (Patty), and their sons, Mason and Christian; sister, Dorothy (Jack); sister-in-law, Ruth, wife of Norman Herndon (deceased); sister-in-law, Sandi Kirk and several nieces and nephews. Retiring from the U.S. Coast Guard, he began his career with ATT in Jacksonville, FL, later transferring to Homestead, where he retired as a Supervisor after 30 years and moved to Valrico where he and Helen have lived for 20 years. WC and Helen enjoyed their motor homes and traveled to every state in the U.S., including Alaska, and many parts of Canada, as well as additional travel to many international countries. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Brandon, Brandon Elks Lodge #2383 and was a Mason. WC always cherished his many friends and spoke of them often. He would want to thank LifePath Hospice, especially the Sapphire team, who were extremely caring and attentive.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at the First United Methodist Church of Brandon, 121 N. Knights Avenue, Brandon, FL 33510, with the family receiving friends from 10:30 until service time.
