Obituary for Troy Jonathan Seibert
Our beloved Troy J. Seibert, age 49, of Lithia, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on January 2, 2022. Most recently, he was preceded in death by his mother, Debbie Suedel of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, and grandparents.
He will be deeply missed by wife, Cara Hansen Seibert (27 years); children, Ethan and Abby; father, John (Julie) Seibert; sister, Jennifer (Eric) Knott; sister-in-law, Wendy (Jeff) Doran; brothers-in-law, Wade (Jennifer) Hansen, Corey (Katie) Hansen, Jeremy (Mindy) Hansen; dear nieces, nephews, other relatives and many devoted lifelong friends.
Troy was born in Mankato, Minnesota and graduated from Anoka High School in Minnesota. Troy could be found playing one of his three favorite sports: as a safety in football, front line in hockey and shortstop in baseball. He received a four-year degree in Political Science from the University of Minnesota-Duluth and played college baseball for the UM-Duluth Bulldogs. He then earned his law degree, magna cum laude, from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota, in 1998. After practicing law for over 12 years in Minnesota, with his wife and children by his side, the family uprooted cross-country to Florida to further his burgeoning career at Butler, Weihmuller, Katz and Craig Law Firm-Tampa, Florida. Troy truly cherished his work relationships as he felt at home with colleagues and clients. Additionally, Troy served as Editor of Coverage, a bi-annual publication within the ABA Section of Litigation, Insurance Coverage Committee.
Humble. Kind. Compassionate. Determined. Family Man. Troy never missed a moment supporting his children, as a Swim Dad, Eagle Scout Dad, Dance Dad, Homework/Editing Dad, Motivating Dad. He was the BEST, most devoted father, husband, son, brother and uncle any family could be blessed to have.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 7, 2022, at St. Stephen's Catholic Church. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 6, 2022, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., with a Prayer Service at 6:30 P.M., at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
