Obituary for Tony Michael Weaver
Tony Michael Weaver, age 70, of Dover, FL was born in Henderson, North Carolina on October 4, 1950 and passed away on July 19, 2021. Tony was preceded in death by his wife Jennifer on June 21, 2021. Tony was the son of the late William and Dorothy Owens Weaver. Survivors include sons; Paul (Jananne) Weaver, Jon (Verdetta) Weaver, David (Mindy) Weaver, Daniel (Lisa) Weaver, brother; Mark (Ginger) Weaver, eight grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. At seventeen years old, Tony moved from Henderson, North Carolina to begin studying at Lee College in Cleveland, Tennessee. Adjusting to a new town and meeting many new people, it did not take long for Tony to meet the love of his life, Jennifer Buser. Tony and Jennifer were married on June 14, 1969 and they recently celebrated their fifty-second wedding anniversary. God placed a special call on Tony’s life to be a minister of the gospel at a young age. Tony embraced his ministerial calling and faithfully fulfilled the duties of pastoral ministry his entire adult life. With pride, Tony’s ministerial credentials were with the Church of God (Cleveland, TN). Tony served as youth pastor at Naples Church of God (Naples, FL) and Sheridan Road Church of God (Tampa, FL). He then served in lead pastoral and administrative ministry roles at: Hillcrest Church of God (Jacksonville, FL), Callahan Church of God (Callahan, FL), Scottsdale Church of God (Scottsdale, AZ) – while simultaneously serving as the Arizona State Youth Director, Thonotosassa Church of God (Thonotosassa, FL), Village Church of God (Winter Haven, FL), State Overseer (Administrative Bishop) for Nebraska and Iowa, Corbin Parkway Church of God (Corbin, KY), served a second term at Thonotosassa Church of God (Thonotosassa, FL), and Riverhills Church of God (Temple Terrace, FL), where he served as the Senior Adult Pastor until his passing. The family will receive friends Friday, July 23, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Riverhills Church of God, 6310 East Sligh Avenue, Tampa, FL 33617. Celebration of life service will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Bloomingdale Community Cemetery.
