Thomas "Tom" Burns passed away on October 19, 2025, in Brandon, Florida, at the age of 65. Born on February 26, 1960, in Dunkirk, New York, Tom’s sudden departure due to a tragic accident has left hearts heavy with sorrow.
He was a devoted father to Brenton Burns and Ryan Burns (Stephanie Walker), finding deep joy in his role as a grandfather to Autumn, Chase, and Aubrey. Family meant everything to Tom, and the love he poured into those closest to him continues to shine through each generation.
Youngest of five siblings, Tom shared strong bonds with his extended family. He is fondly remembered by his brother Michael Burns and Michael’s children, Mike and Stephanie; his sister Anne McGuy and her daughter April and grandson Devin; and his sister Cathy Hartling and her husband Ralph, along with their children Daniel, Jessica, Catie, Jon, and their families.
Tom is now reunited with his beloved soul mate Mary Elsner; his parents Frank and Cathy Burns; his sister Franny Burns; sister-in-law Cheryl Burns; and dear friend Dennis McCall. Their spirits live on in treasured memories held close by all who knew them.
Though Tom’s time was far too brief, the legacy of love he leaves behind is profound—a quiet strength that echoes through the lives he touched. Those who knew him will remember not just his presence but the warmth he carried with him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on November 22, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Elsner's home, 408 Apache Trail, Brandon FL 33511.
