SPILLER, Susie Pearl

SPILLER, Susie Pearl, 93, of Tampa, passed away on Friday, June 15, 2007, in Brandon. Born in Greene County, VA. in 1913, Susie moved to the Tampa area from Bethesda, MD in 1950, with her husband, James. Together they owned and operated Spiller's Grocery in Palmetto Beach. Susie later went on to serve in the cafeteria of Palm River Elementary School for 21 years. Susie was preceded in death by her husband, James; parents, James and Upsie Shifflett; brothers, James, Hardie, and Raymond Shifflett; sisters, Eva Knight, Gertie Scare, Hester Bledsoe, and Thelma Morris, as well as her only grandson, whom she dearly loved, Kyle E. Spiller. Susie is survived by her son, Ron and his wife, Suzanne, of Riverview, along with the two lights of her life, granddaughters, Kelsey and Kerrie Ann Spiller of Riverview; sister, Doris Shifflett and brother-in-law, Isaac Morris, both of Charlottesville, VA, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. A member of the Wellswood Baptist Church, Tampa, Susie was a sweet, gentle, southern Christian woman who was blessed with a long healthy life. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Memorial services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 20, 2007, at Wellswood Baptist Church, 5101 N. Rome Ave., Tampa 33603 (corner of N. Rome and Wishart Ave) with Pastor Keith Bonner officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Wellswood Baptist Church or Desire Street Ministries, P.O. Box 5587, Destin, Fl 32540.

Funeral Information

Memorial services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 20, 2007, at Wellswood Baptist Church, 5101 N. Rome Ave., Tampa 33603 (corner of N. Rome and Wishart Ave) with Pastor Keith Bonner officiating.
