MESS, Susan A., of Brandon, passed away at home on Thursday, August 12, 2010, after a long courageous battle with Ovarian Cancer and was under the care of LifePath Hospice. Born in Birmingham, AL, May 15, 1948, she was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Irving and Betty Ann Shultz and siblings, Robert Irving Shultz, Jr. and Terry Ann Younkin. She is survived by her husband, Norbert J. Mess, Sr.; sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph Michael Mess and Mildred, Jacksonville, FL and Norbert J. Mess, Jr. and Pamela, Ft. Myers, FL; grandson, Robert Mess, Ft. Myers, FL; sister and brother-in-law, Toni and Sam Welch, Valley Springs, CA; brother, Donald Shultz, Kissimmee, FL and many co-workers and friends who stood by her during her battle. The family would like to thank some of the nurses at Tampa General Hospital for their extra kind care - Chemo nurses, Lillie and Judy and nurses, Jennifer, Nancy and Barbara and Dr. Mitchel S. Hoffman and his staff for their care. Also, the Indigo Team of LifePath Hospice for their diligent care.

The family will gather with family and friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Saturday, August 14, 2010, at Southern Funeral Care, 10510 Riverview Dr., Riverview.
