Obituary for Steven Mark Allen

Allen, Steven Mark, 67 from Riverview, FL entered into eternal rest on Monday, February 27, 2023. Steve was preceded in death by his mother Kathleen Kline Allen & father Bernard Allen and his wife Sandra Kay Allen. Steve is survived by his wife Belinda Allen, one son Mark Allen, one step daughter, Terri Nosbisch and one granddaughter Kaitlyn Allen, sisters Beth Ann Allen, Veronica Jean (Bonnie) Allen, Christine Mince, Patricia Eastman, brothers Jim Allen, Terry Allen, Denny Allen, Thomas Allen, John Allen, Matthew Kline, Michael Kline.

Steve grew up in rural Ohio, Garrettsville / Ravenna area, attending Garfield High School, class of 73. He worked with his family in their auto recycling business.

Steve relocated to the Tampa Bay area to pursue his future in the electrical industry. After a short time as the market slowed, he found work in the automobile industry by painting cars, doing bodywork and recycling.

As the construction market recovered, Steve returned to the electrical industry to journey into his future. After working for several electrical contractors at E.M.E., it was time for him to start his own business, Allen’s Electric and Appliance in Riverview, Fl. He also taught the Electrical Apprenticeship program at Erwin VO Tech School in Tampa, FL. His wife Sandy Allen joined him in the business until her passing in 2016 and son Mark Allen joined the family business after high school.

Steve was a stranger to no one, he was a story teller and had much experience and knowledge which he shared with many folks; he was a natural at teaching and educating. He had a great love for automobiles, racing southern modified racecars and other sports; he would drop everything if he could attend the dirt car races or show his red Corvette & red Maserati at local car shows.

Steve enjoyed home cooked meals and spending time with his family. Steve will be missed beyond imagination by many. Unfortunately, his heath did not allow him to live a long life, but during the time he had, he made a lasting impression and presence to everyone he knew and loved. As I, his wife Belinda, I would always tell the hospital staff before any procedure, take care of him, he was precious cargo.

A service will be held at First Baptist Church of Gibsonton on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at 11 AM with family receiving friends one hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of choice.
