MALESKI, Stanley J., Sr. 85, of Riverview, passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2010. He resided in the Brandon area for the past 7 years coming from Maryland. Stanley was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Blind Veterans of America, and was Catholic by faith. He was not old enough to join the United States Navy in 1942 so he joined the Polish Navy at the age of 16 then joined the United States Navy at the age of 18 and saw action in Atlantic, Mediterranean, and the Pacific. Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Helena; son, Stan (Kathy) Maleski; daughter, Kristine (Ralph) Cruikshank; brother, Tony (Janka) Maleski; sister, Mary (Pat) DiNapoli; grandchild, Sean Cruikshank, and 2 great-grandchildren. A Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, August 20, 2010 at Southern Funeral Care, Riverview. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery.
