KOTULA, Sherry Charleton Diefenderfer
KOTULA, Sherry Charleton Diefenderfer, 64, of Gibsonton passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening. She was born to the late William and Bernadine Diefenderfer, on August 25, 1949, in Sharon, PA. She graduated from Hickory High School in 1967 and from Slippery Rock University in 1970. She married Richard Kotula in 1973, and they settled together in Gibsonton, FL. She received her MS in Library Science from Nova Southeastern University in 2001. After getting married, she joined the amusement park business. Later she taught at Gibsonton Elementary School (GES). For over 20 years, she worked at GES as a substitute teacher, a P.E. teacher, and lastly, as their Media Specialist. In 2011, she was honored as the GES Teacher of the Year. She was an active member of the International Independent Showmen's Association (IISA), and the GES PTA. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Richard and her three children: Kimberly; Nadia; and Amanda; two brothers, William Diefenderfer III, of Great Falls, VA and Bruce Diefenderfer, of Carlisle, PA. The family would like to provide a special thank you to Dr. Dany Sayad of Florida Cardiovascular Institute and Dr. Jason Stibich and Vanessa Guerrero, PA-C of Brandon Primary Care for their excellent care and continued friendship.

Memorial Services will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, April 26, 2014, at Southern Funeral Care, 10510 Riverview Drive, Riverview, with the family receiving friends one hour prior to services.
