Wife and mother of three, Sheila M. Nemia, 77, of Riverview, FL, passed away May 27th 2026, at home surrounded by loved ones. Known for her sweet tooth and hearty laugh, she will be deeply missed.
Sheila was born into a large working-class family in Brooklyn, NY, as the youngest of seven. Her upbringing created a strong bond with her siblings that continued throughout her life. One handed down through the generations, making for close relationships within the entire Dawson clan.
After her youngest started school, she reentered the workforce. She excelled as a saleswoman for over forty years in a niche industry for a company she grew to cherish. Those she worked with became her family away from home.
Even with children, a home and career to juggle, she made time for other things in her life. She continued to be a devoted Catholic and took part in ministries, clubs and retreats. In her free time, she enjoyed Bingo, word puzzles, board games, buying shoes, taking cruises, and, of course, spending time with good friends, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of fifty-six years, John, three daughters, Michelle, Christine and Stephanie, four grandsons, John, Andrew, Kayson and Antonio, and four great-grandchildren, Liala, Noah, McKenna and Seth. Also preceded in death by grandson, Vincent.
