Obituary for Shawn Gerard McConnell
McCONNELL, Shawn Gerard, 58, of Brandon, passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2018. A native of Upland, CA, he had resided here for 25 years coming from Massachusetts. He is survived by his daughter, Sabreena McConnell and mother, Anne McConnell. His family moved to Pittsfield MA where his parents were from in 1968 where he attended grammar and high schools. He lived in Worcester MA for several years before moving to Pinellas Park FL and later to Brandon FL. He worked as a Molding Technician for S&S Craftsman for nearly 20 years, until his illness in June of 2017. He enjoyed his work. His passion was fishing, especially bass fishing in many Florida lakes. He participated in many tournaments including Tampa Pro Bass, Pigs n Jigs and Macdill Bassmasters where he and his partners won many trophies. He enjoyed bicycling, woodworking and Hugh fan of the Patriot, Celtics, Bruins and Red Sox. He also enjoyed the Tampa Buccaneers. He had many friends and family members who enjoyed his company and fish stories and will miss him very much, especially Ron Burke who was like a brother to him.
