Sharon Ann Evans, also known as “Mom Evans”, 69, of New Port Richey, FL, passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2023. A native of New Smyrna, TN, she had resided in the Tampa Bay area since grade school. She graduated from East Bay High School Class of 1972 and attended all their high school reunions throughout the years. Sharon loved bingo, cruises, gardening, people, animals, and most importantly, she loved and adored her grandchildren who referred to her as “Gee” and “Grandma”. She is survived by her five grandchildren, Paul William Leon, William Roy Evans, III, Tate Michael Evans, Alex Leon, and Kayleigh Leon. She is also survived by her son, William Roy Evans, Jr. and wife Lori Evans; daughter, Christina “Christy” Leon and husband Taurus Leon; and sisters, Janet and Beverly Green. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Roy Evans, Sr. A visitation for Sharon will be held at Southern Funeral Care on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, from 11 AM to 12 PM. The graveside service will be private. For those who wish, the family asks in memory of Sharon, donations be made to the ASPCA or Humane Society.
