Obituary for Sam Leto
Leto, Sam 95, passed away January 16, 2021. Sam was born July 2, 1925 and was a lifelong resident of Tampa. He was preceded in death by his wife, Josie. Sam graduated from the University of Tampa in 1948. He served in the US Army and retired from the Hillsborough County Health Department. Sam was a proud member of the Sons of Italy La Nuova Sicilia Lodge. He enjoyed Cuban coffee and toast with his many friends at Tropicana and the West Tampa Sandwich Shop. Sam loved his family. He leaves behind his son Ronnie Leto, daughter and son-in-law Denise and Robert Webb, grandchildren Shayla and Joe Gerena and Gina and Justin Rhodes, sister Tessie Rodriguez, sister-in-law Vivian Alvarez, brother-in-law Al Alvarez, his dear friend Joe Massaro, five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be held at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens February 13th at 1:00pm. Donations in Sam’s honor can be made to the Sons of Italy La Nuova Sicilia Lodge.
