Roy W. Crenshaw, Sr.

Roy Wesley Crenshaw was born in Charleston, Missouri on April 21, 1922 and was the son of the late Roy Clifford Crenshaw and Emma Trice Crenshaw. He was raised in Mount Vernon, Indiana where he graduated from high school. Following training in the CCC, he moved to Dayton, Ohio where he was employed by the Dullman Electric Company, the United States Post Office and at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. His job was transferred to the Newark (Ohio) Air Force Base and then to Japan, Korea and the Philippines. He retired from the Office of Personnel Management of the U. S. Air Force after 30 years of service. He then moved to Brandon, Florida where he died on April 10, 2013. He was a member of many civic and social groups including: the Boy Scouts of American, Little League Coach, an elder in the several Presbyterian Churches, F AM Masonic Order, a Stephen Minister and an Instructor for the AARP Safe Driver Courses. He loved to fish, play cards and BBQ. He was the beloved husband for 68 years of Virginia Anderson Crenshaw and the loving father of Loretta Crenshaw Henry (Charles), Rosalyn Crenshaw Dill (Louis), Delores Crenshaw Thompson (Stanley) and Roy William Crenshaw (Deborah Waite Crenshaw). His 10 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren will miss him. He also leaves several nieces and nephews and a host of friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral Information

A memorial service will be at the First Presbyterian Church, Brandon, Florida on Saturday, May 18th at 1:00PM.
