Obituary for Ronald Edward Ehrich
Family and friends gathered to celebrate the life of Ronald Ehrich in a private event on December 20th. Ron was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. At the age of 17, Ron joined the United States Air Force during the conflict in Korea and was deployed to Japan. Ron was awarded the Korean and United Nations service medals for his honorable service. Once discharged from the Air Force, he joined his family in Florida and soon began his 23-year career with the Tampa Police Department. He joined in December of 1955. He also attended the University of Tampa for 2 years. He retired from the Tampa Police Department on January 5, 1979, holding the rank of Sergeant. He worked briefly as a private investigator, and then became Director of Security for Barnett Banks in the Tampa Bay region. He lived in Riverview, FL during his retirement. Ronald was given both police and military honors, and the family thanks the Tampa Police Department and the MacDill Airforce Base Honor Guards for their service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donating to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
