Robert (Bob) Taliaferro, 89, of Brandon, FL, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. Originally from a farm in Tappahannock, VA, he had lived in Brandon since 1976 and enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the beach in Indian Shores. Bob was the first of his family to go to college and ultimately started his own successful business as a fertilizer broker, working until he was 86.
A strong leader in his church, he served several times as an Elder on Session and led capital improvement campaigns to grow the church. He will be remembered as a caring husband, father, and grandfather, always generous and thoughtful to others beyond measure. He is survived by sons, Alan and Jeff Taliaferro; daughter, Beth D’Elia; grandchildren, R. Ryland Taliaferro, Kaylie L. Morrison, Evelyn D’Elia and Arielle D’Elia and great-grandson, Robert R. Taliaferro (Rory).
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at First Presbyterian Church of Brandon, 121 Carver Ave, Brandon, FL 33510.
