SMITH, Robert J., 59, of Riverview, passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2014. Robert was a member of First Baptist Church of Gibsonton, he also was a fantastic Sprint car driver and in the Little 500 Hall of Fame. He was predeceased by his father, Willard Smith; son, Daryl Smith. Survivors include his wife Cheryl Smith; daughter, Kristy (Edward) Dauberman; brother, David Smith; sisters, Linda Laowery and Darlene Melnick; mother, Louise Smith; grandchildren, Kyle Harde, and Autumn Hardee. A celebration of life service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, August 28, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Gibsonton with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Hurrah Cemetery.
