Robert "Bob" G. West, Jr.
WEST, Jr., Robert G. "Bob", 63, of Palmetto, FL, formerly of Madison, IN, passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2010. A native of Anderson, IN, he had resided in this area most of his lifetime. A former deputy with the Sumter County Sheriff's Office, he was a US Army Viet Nam veteran of two tours, a life member of the DAV, a member of the VFW, Eagles and Moose Lodge, all in Lake Panasofkee, FL, taught disabled children how to play golf, was very artistic, a Florida Gators fan and had a great sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert G. West, Sr. and step-father, Carlos San Martin. He is survived by his wife, Jackie; mother, Frances San Martin; daughter, Brittanie West; step-son, Gregg Self; brother, Michael (Lan) West; sister, Sandy (Shannon) Hillier and grandchild, Jordan Self; grandmother, Hellen Briggs.
Funeral Information
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 7, 2010, at the First Baptist Church of Gibsonton, FL with the family receiving friends one hour prior to services. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
