He was a Member of the Wayne, OH Lion's Club and Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his son, Darrell Meek and is survived by his wife, Virginia Meek, Riverview, FL; 3 sons, Douglas Meek, Riverview, FL, Dennis Meek, Bloomdale, OH and Duane Meek, Lakeland, FL; daughter, Debra Thaxton, Riverview, FL; brother, James Meek, Mansfield, OH; sister, Helen Ione, Bowling Greem OH; 12 Grandchildren and 13 Great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 16, 2009, at Southern Funeral Care, 10510 Riverview Drive, Riverview, FL, with the family receiving friends one hour prior to services. The family will also receive friends Tuesday, August 18, 2009, from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Brandt Funeral Home, 121 W. South Street, Wayne, OH 43466. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 19, 2009, at Brandt Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Bradner Cemetery, Bradner, OH.
