Richard D. Pullinger
PULLINGER, Richard D., 78, of Valrico, died peacefully with his family present, on Sunday, June 16, 2013, after a brief illness. Born in Beaver Falls, PA, the son of the late, Richard and Helen Pullinger, a graduate of Beaver Falls High School, he was a US Army veteran serving as a Sergeant in the Signal Corps during the Korean War era. Dick worked for Bell Telephone of Pennsylvania and GTE/Verizon for 41 years until his retirement in 1994 as GTEDS Director of National Operation Services in Tampa. He loved playing golf with his friends at Buckhorn Golf Club and poker with his Friday night buddies. Dick is survived by his wife, Sandy, Valrico; his son, David Pullinger, Tampa; daughter, Janis (David) Guthrie, Erie, PA; three step-sons, David Rogozinski, Poughkeepsie, NY, Michael (Terry) Rogozinski, Monroe, NY and Ken (Sasha) Rogozinski, Riverside, CT; his 8 grandchildren, who he was sure hung the moon in the sky; a brother, Robert Pullinger, Ontario, CA and his nieces and nephews.
Funeral Information
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 12, 2013, at Brandon First United Methodist Church Sanctuary, 121 N. Knights Avenue, Brandon, FL 33510. Family visitation will be from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. with the service beginning at 2:00 P.M. A reception will immediately follow in Logan Hall.
