Rev. Walter F. Chapman, Sr.
CHAPMAN, Sr., Rev. Walter F., went home to the Lord Sunday, January 11, 2015. Born in Savannah, April 14, 1925, raised in Ludowici/Waycross. Ga. He was a Southern Baptist Minister of 65 years, a life dedicated to honoring God and ministering to everyone he met. A graduate from Furman University and New Orleans Theological Seminary, he was a US Army Veteran of WW II, serving in the European Theatre with the 339th Engineering Battalion. Preceded in death by his parents, Horace F. Anna Chapman, Sr.; brothers, Horace, Jr. and Earl, along with a great number of Chapman Family relatives of Jones Creek Baptist church. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, IdaRay Roberts Chapman; children, Rosalee, Walter, Jr., John and Ray; grandchildren, Jeff, Phillip, Sid, Chad and 8 others, and his newest great-grandson, Hunter. Upon the passing of IdaRay, a Celebration of Life Ministry for Rev. Walter IdaRay, will be announced with burials to follow later in Savannah and Jones Creek. Date for burial will be announced.

A brief service will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 18, 2015, at Southern Funeral Care, Riverview, with the family receiving friends one hour prior to services.
