Raymond Allen Lindsey, age 55, passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 23, 2025, in Polk City, Florida. He was born on May 21, 1970, in Tampa, Florida.
Raymond is survived by his father, Robert Allen Lindsey; his mother, Barbara Wing Lindsey; his companion, Shirley Whiteload; his brothers, David E. Wolfe of Plant City and Robert W. Lindsey of Stuart, Florida; and his sister, Mary V. “Gina” McLeath of Valrico. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including David A., Patrick, Dennis, Cody, Tyler, Porter, Dakota, Desiree, Shelby, Michael, Arthur, Theo, Cantrel, and Laura.
Raymond had a lifelong passion for racing, from mini-bikes and building cars to participating at the track. He especially loved dirt-track and stock-car racing, an interest that stayed with him from childhood. He also enjoyed boating and camping, passions he embraced from an early age and carried throughout his life. One of his favorite places was the lighthouse at Fort DeSoto, which reflected his love for the outdoors and quiet reflection.
Professionally, Raymond worked for several years as a certified refrigeration technician. He also spent many years in construction, including house building, trim carpentry, and painting, often working alongside family members. Later in his career, he worked as a road striping foreman for several companies, concluding his career with McShea Contracting. Known for his dependability and leadership, he earned the nicknames “Ask Raymond” and “Call Raymond,” reflecting the trust others placed in his experience and judgment.
Raymond will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love of racing and the outdoors, and his readiness to help others. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
