Ramon Luis Castro, 60, of Riverview, Florida, passed away on June 1, 2025.
Ramon was born on January 27, 1965, in Canóvanas, Puerto Rico, to his loving parents, Juan Ramon Castro and Nereida Castro. He spent his early childhood in Puerto Rico before moving to Springfield, Massachusetts, where he attended Glenwood Elementary School, Chestnut Junior High, and graduated from Commerce High School in 1983. That same year, he moved to New York to live with his father and later attended Brooklyn Community College.
While living in New York, Ramon worked for a shipping company, where he gained valuable experience and built lasting friendships. It was also during this time that he met his beautiful wife, Isabel Castro, and together they built a life rooted in love and family, raising two sons, Justin Castro and Travis Castro.
In the early 2000s, Ramon returned to Springfield, Massachusetts, where he worked for the city and reconnected with his hometown community. After retiring, he relocated to Riverview, Florida, where he enjoyed a quieter life surrounded by loved ones.
Ramon is survived by his beloved wife, Isabel Castro; his sons, Justin and Travis; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Castro; and his treasured granddaughters, Adalynn, Arabella, and Avianna. He is also survived by his parents, Juan Ramon Castro and Nereida Castro, his stepmother, Emma Castro; his sisters, Blanca Castro and Jeanette Castro, brother-in-law, Omar Lewis; his nephew, Jae'Vaughn Perry; his sister-in-law, Tania Kalaff; his mother-in-law, Isabelita Torres; and her sister, Marilyn Torres; and a large and close-knit extended family who will miss him dearly.
Ramon’s life was a true reflection of his values, family, kindness, and love. He had a keen sense of humor that everyone appreciated, and his gentle spirit and joyful presence touched all who knew him.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, June 9, 2025, at Southern Funeral Care in Riverview, Florida. Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM, followed by the service at 3:00 PM.

Ramon nació el 27 de enero de 1965 en Canóvanas, Puerto Rico, hijo de sus amorosos padres, Juan Ramon Castro y Nereida Castro. Pasó su infancia en Puerto Rico antes de mudarse a Springfield, Massachusetts, donde asistió a la Escuela Primaria Glenwood, la Escuela Intermedia Chestnut, y se graduó de la Escuela Secundaria Commerce en 1983. Ese mismo año, se mudó a Nueva York para vivir con su padre y más tarde asistió al Brooklyn Community College.
Mientras vivía en Nueva York, Ramon trabajó para una empresa de envíos, donde ganó experiencia valiosa y formó amistades duraderas. Fue también en ese tiempo cuando conoció a su amada esposa, Isabel Castro, y juntos formaron una vida llena de amor y compromiso, criando a sus dos hijos, Justin Castro y Travis Castro.
A principios de los años 2000, Ramon regresó a Springfield, Massachusetts, donde trabajó para la Ciudad de Springfield y se reconectó con su comunidad de origen. Tras jubilarse, se mudó a Riverview, Florida, donde disfrutó de una vida tranquila rodeado de sus seres queridos.
Ramon deja atrás a su querida esposa, Isabel Castro; sus hijos, Justin y Travis; su yerna, Jennifer Castro; y sus adoradas nietas, Adalynn, Arabella y Avianna. También le sobreviven sus padres, Juan Ramon Castro y Nereida Castro; su madrastra, Emma Castro; sus hermanas, Blanca Castro y Jeanette Castro; su cuñado, Omar Lewis; su sobrino, Jae'Vaughn Perry; su cuñada, Taina Kalaff; su suegra, Isabelita Torres y la hermana de ella, Marilyn Torres y una gran familia extendida muy unida que lo extrañará profundamente.
La vida de Ramon fue un verdadero reflejo de sus valores: familia, bondad y amor. Tenía un agudo sentido del humor que todos apreciaban, y su espíritu amable y alegre dejó huella en quienes lo conocieron.
El Servicio Memorial se llevará a cabo el lunes 9 de junio de 2025, en Southern Funeral Care en Riverview, Florida. La visita comenzará a las 2:00 PM, seguida del servicio a las 3:00 PM.
