Ralph Charles Purvis, Jr.
PURVIS, Jr., Ralph Charles, 74, of Brandon, went to his Lord on Monday, February 6, 2017. Born July 28, 1942 in Jackson Heights Queens, N.Y. to Georgeanna Richardson Purvis and Ralph Charles Purvis, Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepdad, Carl Wilson, Sr. and sister, Mary Ann Purvis Graver and is survived by his sister, Cheryl Purvis (Keith) Swain; brothers, George (Rae Veda) Purvis and Carl (Lori) Wilson and several nieces and nephews. A proud US Marine Corp veteran, having served 5 1/2 years active duty, he worked at IBM in Poughkeepsie, NY for 20 years, going on disability in 1988. Ralph suffered with severe bi-polar disorder for most of his life. He moved to Florida in 1990. He was a hard-working, kind and compassionate man who loved his family.
