Rafael Villa Velásquez, age 61, of Tampa, Florida, passed away on July 4, 2026, at 9:51 p.m.

Rafael was born on April 17, 1965, in Medellín, Colombia, to Rafael Villa Colorado and Fabiola Velásquez. He earned his degree as an Industrial Technologist from Tecnológico Jaime Isaza Cadavid. On September 2, 1995, he married the love of his life, Jeny Patricia Londoño, beginning a journey together filled with love, devotion, and treasured memories.

From a young age, Rafael loved to travel and explore new places, spending time with family and friends and making the most of every opportunity to create lasting memories. He was an intelligent, kind, resilient, determined, and remarkably strong man. A passionate fan of rock music and soccer, he especially loved Atlético Nacional and the Colombian National Soccer Team. He enjoyed adventure, great food, fishing, the ocean, concerts, attending sporting events, vacations, and camping.

Rafael always put others before himself and was willing to help anyone in need. He fought a courageous battle with cancer, facing every challenge with unwavering strength, hope, and dignity. Even during his illness, he continued to give the very best of himself, leaving behind an inspiring legacy of love, perseverance, and selflessness that will forever be remembered by those who knew and loved him.

Rafael is survived by his beloved wife, Jeny Patricia Villa, and his cherished children, María Fernanda Villa, Sophia Andrea Villa, and Camilo Andrés Villa, who will continue to honor his legacy of love, generosity, and strength.

A Prayer Service and Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Southern Funeral Care.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that those wishing to honor Rafael’s memory consider making a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a cause that was very close to his heart.

Rafael Villa Velásquez, de 61 años, falleció en Tampa, Florida, el 4 de julio de 2026 a las 9:51 p.m.

Nació el 17 de abril de 1965 en Medellín, Colombia, hijo de Rafael Villa Colorado y Fabiola Velásquez. Se graduó como Tecnólogo Industrial en el Tecnológico Jaime Isaza Cadavid. El 2 de septiembre de 1995 contrajo matrimonio con el amor de su vida, Jeny Patricia Londoño, con quien compartió una vida llena de amor, sueños y momentos inolvidables.

Desde muy joven disfrutó viajar y conocer nuevos lugares, compartir con su familia y amigos, y aprovechar cada oportunidad para crear recuerdos. Era un hombre inteligente, noble, resiliente, perseverante y de una fortaleza admirable. Fue un apasionado del rock, del fútbol y, especialmente, fiel seguidor del Atlético Nacional y de la Selección Colombia. Amaba la adrenalina, la buena comida, la pesca, el mar, los conciertos, asistir a los estadios, salir de vacaciones y acampar. Siempre se preocupó por el bienestar de los demás y hacía todo lo posible por brindar ayuda a quien la necesitara. Enfrentó una dura batalla contra el cáncer con valentía y esperanza, manteniéndose fuerte y dando lo mejor de sí hasta el final, dejando un ejemplo de amor, coraje y perseverancia para todos quienes tuvieron el privilegio de conocerlo.

A Rafael le sobreviven su amada esposa, Jeny Patricia Villa, y sus queridos hijos, María Fernanda Villa, Sophia Andrea Villa y Camilo Andrés Villa, quienes continuarán honrando su legado de amor, generosidad y fortaleza.

Se llevará a cabo un servicio de oración y celebración de vida el miércoles 8 de julio de 2026, de 5:00 p.m. a 7:00 p.m., en Southern Funeral Care.

La Misa de Funeral se celebrará el jueves 9 de julio de 2026 a las 11:00 a.m. en la Iglesia Católica Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe (Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church).

En lugar de flores, la familia invita a quienes deseen honrar la memoria de Rafael a realizar una donación en beneficio del Hospital de Investigación Infantil St. Jude, una causa muy cercana a su corazón.
