Obituary for Rachel D. Powell-Tribout

Rachel D. Powell-Tribout (née Powell) unexpectedly left us for heaven on July 24, 2023. Rachel was born in Belleville, IL on September 11, 1976, to Thomas and Gloria Powell, Sr (nee Valenzuela). She attended Millstadt Consolidated School in Millstadt, IL, Belleville West High School and Southwestern Illinois Community college in Belleville, IL. Rachel met her husband of 23 years, Kevin Tribout in 1997, and the couple were married on October 9, 1999. After moving to Tampa, FL in 2001 Rachel attended Hillsborough Community College and the University of South Florida where she was an energetic Bull. She gave birth to the couple’s only child, a son Truman, in 2011. She was a proud stay-at-home mother and a beloved caring wife. We will miss her beautiful smile, her laugh and her kind and sassy words. Rachel is survived by her husband Kevin Tribout, son Truman Tribout and her in-laws Ronald and Linda Tribout of Urbana, IL. From her family she is survived by her mother Gloria Powell, of Belleville, IL, four loving sisters, Debra Runge of Fairview Heights, IL, Suzette Dodson of Lebanon, IL, Jeannette ‘Chris’ Kulat of Kennesaw, GA, and Blaine C. Wang of Chicago, IL as well as three loving brothers Thomas Powell, Jr of Belleville, IL, Jeffery Powell of Freeburg, IL and David Powell of Belleville, IL and a host of nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 A.M. Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Nativity Catholic Church with the family receiving friends one hour to the Mass. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family has established a trust for Truman and support can be provided at the church before services, sent to the family at 13007 Kings Crossing Dr., Gibsonton FL 33534 or sent to Waterfront Advisors – c/o Patrick Berch – at 6711 West 121st Street Overland Park Kansas 66209. Please indicate or include “WFCS FBO Truman Tribout” on any checks. If people wish to send flowers Truman requests, they be orange in memory of his best friend and THE best person ever, his mother. The family hopes all attendees wear something orange in memory Rachel.
