Obituary for Phyllis Barnao

Mrs. Phyllis Barnao of Sun City Center FL passed away peacefully on November 10th, 2023. Phyliss was born March 8th, 1953, in Westchester Square Bronx, NY to Joseph Marengo and Dina Vaccaro. Phyllis is preceded in death by her mother Dina Vaccaro, father Joseph Marengo, sister Rose Gole, and brother James Marengo. She is survived by her husband of 48 years John Barnao, son Philip Barnao, grandchildren Brandon and Gabriella Barnao, Son David Barnao and wife Melissa Barnao.

Phyllis enjoyed her younger years in Bronx NY with her brother and sister at Free Beach swimming and enjoyed Rita's Italian ice. Before becoming a stay-at-home mother, she had many careers including working for an advertising agency in the Twin Towers NYC. After marrying her beloved husband and having two children Phyliss became a stay-at-home mother which she loved and it was her dream that came true. After raising her family, Phyllis and her husband John ventured out on a new journey and opened their own Bagel & Sandwich business in Pine Bush NY. After 14 years of growing their successful business and making many friends throughout their journey, they both decided to retire and move to Sun City Center, Florida. Phyliss reconnected with old friends from NY, made many new friends and touched many lives as she always has throughout her life. Phyllis was a devoted Christian, Wife, Mother, Grandmother and loved by all she encountered.

The words to describe Phyllis during her life are hard but for those who knew her, 'she’s an amazing and wonderful woman full of life, smiles, love and wisdom'. Phyllis was loved by all, she was the sun that shined on our family, the glue that kept us together and she will be greatly missed.
