Peter Dennis Vithoulkas, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and cousin, passed away peacefully September 2, 2022, in Brandon, Florida. Peter was born April 25, 1934, in Zakynthos, Greece to Dennis and Dimitra Vithoulkas (Tsouraki), who preceded him in death.
Pete moved to the United States at a young age where he was staring in a play at Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Washington, DC where he was affectionately known as “Hollywood” and where he met his wife, Sophia Vithoulkas (Cambouroulos). The two were wed in the same church shortly after they met and moved to Silver Spring, Maryland and then Potomac, Maryland to raise their two daughters. In addition to acting and being a musician, Pete was a renown barber who opened several barber shops in Maryland and Washington, DC with clientele including secret service and other notable politicians. Then later he started his own wholesale produce business, Pete’s Produce, which later became Columbia Produce in Maryland. Pete was a hardworking man with a keen sense of humor who was loved by many.
Pete is survived by his wife, Sophia Vithoulkas, Germantown, Maryland; his daughters, Dimitra Sarakinis, Leesburg, Virginia and Androniki (James) Beavers, Brandon, Florida; his grandchildren, Konstantine and Sophia Sarakinis, Leesburg, Virginia and Christina and Nicholas Beavers, Brandon, Florida and a sister, Christina Sidirokastriti, Zakynthos, Greece. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins in Greece and the United States. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Anastasios and Kostas Vithoulkas and his sisters, Agelliki Dokert and Roumpini Pataka, Zakynthos, Greece.
A private Celebration of Life for Pete will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at 3:00 pm, in Brandon, Florida with Father John, of Saint John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church of Tampa, Florida officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church.
