Peter A. Lapham, known to everyone as Pete, passed away unexpectedly on May 07, 2026 surrounded by family and friends at the age of 72. Born on November 10, 1953, in Trenton, NJ, Pete spent his final years in Valrico, FL, surrounded by the warmth of family and the sunshine he loved.
Pete was the kind of guy who could walk into any room and instantly make it brighter. He had a gift for making people laugh, whether it was a perfectly timed joke, a quick one-liner, or just that infectious way he had about him. If you met Pete, you loved Pete. It was just that simple. He had a genuine love for people and it showed. Pete loved spending his free time outdoors. He was an avid fan of hunting, fishing, and tending to his garden and loved his vegetable plants.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Mary Lapham, as well as a beloved brother. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter through his surviving family. He is deeply missed by his devoted wife of 52 years, Roxann Lapham; his children, Peter (Carmen) Lapham and Kelly (Luke) Chancey; and his cherished grandchildren, Aubree, Robert, Cameron, and Calvin. He will also be fondly remembered by his extended family and many close friends.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Pete's life will be held at Southern Funeral Care on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 12:00 PM located at 10510 Riverview Drive, Riverview, FL 33594.
