Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Angel and Ester Garcia; and her husband, J.C. Witherington. Peggy is survived by her son, Eric Witherington; step-children, James C. Witherington, Jr. and Beth Ann Ivy; brother, Alan Garcia (Annie); sister and caregiver, Gloria Ayres (Bruce). Peggy and J.C. were members of the First Baptist Church of Palm River.

The immediate family will celebrate Peggy's life in a private memorial service.
