Peggy Dean (Nelson) Bryant, 82, of Riverview, Florida, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2023. She was born on October 15, 1940, in Big Creek, Kentucky to the late Blanche Marie (Lowe) Nelson and Rush Nelson. Peggy was well known for her father's grocery store, Nelson's Market, in Pond Creek, Kentucky, where she and her siblings grew up and worked. In 1968, Peggy and her family moved to Florida. Later in life, she and her husband went on to own a delivery service and worked in flea markets on the side together. Peggy never met a stranger and loved sharing treasured stories of her life's adventures with anyone who would listen. She was very giving and welcoming, opening her home to many family members and anyone that was in need. Family was very important to Peggy, she loved hosting parties for them and her friends during holidays and birthdays. She always loved being with them. She always had a loving smile, kind words, and all who knew her loved her. Peggy was also a faithful Southern Baptist. She will be deeply missed and remembered always.
In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Fred Bryant (2000); long-time companion, John Burley Richards, Sr. (2022); sister, Patsy Sue (Nelson) Brunty; and brother, George Donald Nelson. She is survived by her loving children, Sherry (Rick Tufano, Jr.) Manali and Michelle (Shane St.John) Bryant; siblings, Larry Blake Nelson, Eddie Gene Nelson, and Loraine (Nelson) Grant; grandchildren, Ashlee (William Harrison) Bryant and Sara Marie (Thomas Gonzalez, Sr.) St. John; great-grandchildren, Isabella Marie Gonzalez and Thomas Gonzalez, Jr. (TJ); many beloved nieces and nephews; and many extended family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held for Peggy on Saturday, May 6, 2023, from 1 PM to 4 PM at 12403 Edgeknoll Drive, Riverview, FL, 33579.
