Pearline Louise Dennis
December 4, 1950 – April 21, 2026
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
2 Timothy 4:7
“A Time to Be Born”
Pearline Louise Dennis, a woman of deep faith, boundless love, and quiet strength, passed away on April 21, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on December 4, 1950, she grew up in Montego Bay, Saint James, Jamaica, where she attended Montego Bay High School. After completing her studies, Pearline made her way to Kingston, Jamaica, where she met Oscar Clarke. Together, they built a family and were blessed with six children.
“A Time to Build Up”
Pearline was a woman of extraordinary drive and determination. As a single mother, she worked tirelessly to provide for her family, taking on many roles throughout her life. She was an entrepreneur who started several businesses in order to care for her six children, and her resilience and resourcefulness never wavered. She also served the Government of Jamaica as a Polling Officer and as a Census Taker and Field Representative for the Jamaica Labour Party. She worked as a household helper and, in her later years, found joy in caring for young children as a babysitter — a natural extension of the nurturing spirit she had always carried.
“A Time to Serve”
Pearline instilled Christian principles in her children from an early age, ensuring they attended Sunday School every week without fail. She encouraged them always to pray, to trust in God, and never to lose hope. She gave her life to Christ through baptism in the 1980s, and her faith never wavered. Whether in Jamaica or the United States, where she later made her home, she was a steadfast believer who read her Bible daily and lifted each of her children, grandchildren, friends, and family up in prayer without fail. Her relationship with God was the foundation of everything she did.
“A Time to Love”
Those who knew Pearline remember her generous, open-hearted spirit. She had a gift for seeing need in others — she would welcome children who had nowhere to turn into her home, feed them, and give them a safe place to rest. Her kitchen was a place of warmth, filled with the aromas of the meals and baked goods she lovingly prepared. She delighted in doing puzzles, tuning in to The Price Is Right, and filling her home with the music of Céline Dion.
“A Time to Mourn”
Pearline was preceded in death by her mother, Lynette Edwards; her father; her sister, Concita Graham; and her brother, Alton Dennis. She leaves behind her beloved brother, Samuel Dennis, and a legacy of love carried on by her six children: Dean Clarke, Ryan Clarke (married to Michelle Clarke), Nadine Clarke, Marsha (Clarke) Harris (married to Gregory Harris), Oneil Clarke, and Keisha Clarke; her fifteen grandchildren: Dean Clarke Jr., Akeem Clarke, Martika Clarke, Daniel Clarke, Joshua Clarke, Davia Outlaw (married to Joshua Outlaw), Jason Isaacs (fiancée Alison Lewis), Brittany Brooks (married to Maleek Brooks), Brianna Harris, Ayanna Harris, Caleb Harris, Juaniki Leslie, Sadhiki Stewart, Kelise Stewart, and Davian Nash; and her eight great-grandchildren: Liam, Shannon, Damien, Kingston, Micah, Kyrah, Ja’Mir, and Jahdiyah.
Pearline Louise Dennis was more than a mother — she was a shelter for anyone who needed one. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
