ODUM, Paul Lamar, Jr., passed away on Friday, August 22, 2008, at his home in Brandon. Paul was born May 7, 1936 in El Dorado, AR to Paul Ruth Kathryn Odum. He was raised in Arkansas and Shreveport, LA. He was a Kappa Alpha fraternity member at Louisiana Tech and served as president, before graduating with a degree in Accounting. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1958 - 1962. Paul was a controller with Sears, Roebuck Co. from 1962 to 1994 and a Realtor with Coldwell Banker until the time of his death. He was an avid supporter and dedicated volunteer with the Gasparilla Film Festival. He was a man of quiet strength, a devoted husband, son, father and grandfather. He was highly principled and he lived a noble life. Paul was predeceased by his father. Paul is survived by his wife, Mary; his mother, Ruth Kathryn; daughters, Grace (Michael), Karyn (Brian); son, Eric; brother, Charles "Bob"; sister, Mary Lynn and his four grandchildren, Dennis, Parker, Mallory and Aryn Kathryn as well as his extended family and many friends.
Funeral Information
A celebration of life will be conducted 12:00 Noon on Monday, August 25, 2008, at Southern Funeral Care, 10510 Riverview Drive, with the family receiving friends one hour prior.
