Pamela Fay Johnson of Tampa, Florida was born on September 3, 1959, at Fort Huachuca Army base in Arizona to the late Louis C. and Annie Jo Porter. She entered into eternal rest on August 13, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. “Pam” grew into a woman whose joy, faith, and laughter left a lasting mark on all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Patricia “Pat” Porter, her brother Ronald Porter, her best friend Delores “Dee” Grayson, and other beloved family members and friends who welcomed her home in glory.
Pam leaves to cherish fond and loving memories with her devoted husband of 44 years, Fabian Johnson; her children, Niechia Johnson and Alechia Johnson-Gainey (Rodney); her beloved grandchildren, Briyanna Pierce, Bethel Pierce IV, William (Trey) Lucas III, and Ariyanna Johnson. She also leaves behind her loving sister Brenda Neptune (Dean), her “family in love” Virginia Johnson (Bill Johnson-Deceased) Bill Johnson (Sonya) and Cheryl Johnson (James), her nieces and nephews Felichia Porter, Anthony Porter, Kevin Neptune, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends—by both blood and marriage—who will continue to carry her memory in their hearts.
Pam was raised in the Baptist church and later joined her husband, Fabian, in the Catholic faith, she served multiple ministries at Nativity in Brandon; and throughout her life walked closely with the Lord. Her favorite Scripture, Psalm 23, was her anchor: “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.” Pam lived those words fully, resting in God’s care and reflecting His goodness in her own.
She was a woman of many passions—fashion, decorating, arts and crafts, dancing, cooking, and traveling. But above all, she loved making memories with her family. Her vibrant personality filled every room with laughter, warmth, and a special touch that only she could bring.
Professionally, Pam was a dedicated career woman who excelled in managerial roles in corporate America. She especially loved training, teaching new hires and guiding others into their next career steps. She traveled often for work, connecting with people through her gift of communication and encouragement. Yet her most cherished role was that of wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend—a role she lived with grace, strength, and boundless love.
“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
– Psalm 23:6
