Obituary for Nellie "Faye" Boyer

Faye Boyer went to her Lord & Savior peacefully, surrounded by family on October 2nd, 2023.

Born on March 7,1933, in Autauga County (Prattville), Alabama, she was the eldest of three daughters born to Pauline & Dowdle Law.

She married Bill Boyer, the love of her life in 1952. She and Bill had two sons, Jeff & Shane along with two Grandsons, Jack & Luke whom she cherished.

After working for Hillsborough County School Systems for 25 years she retired with Bill. They purchased a second home in Franklin, NC, where they could spend their days hiking the hills and rocking on their front porch with family & friends. Faye and Bill were faithful members of First Baptist Brandon Church where they sang in the choir for many years & went on several mission trips. Special moments included Saturday morning breakfast with her sons & Church Family.

She is survived by her sons, Jeff (Margie) Boyer and Shane (Danya) Boyer, sisters, Paula Pittman and Janice Lester, nieces, Michelle Horne and Jennifer Cannon and nephew, Mickey Pittman. Faye will be sorely missed by many loyal & dear friends, too numerous to count. She “never met a stranger” and ended each conversation with “You are So Good to Me.” She told us each day, “I Love You.”

Proverbs 31, 9-31 beautifully illustrate Faye’s character.

Faye prayed without ceasing. She often told us how she thanked God each day for helping her get through any difficult situation and thanking God for all he had given her throughout her life.

The family would like to thank the loving team at Memory Lane Cottages in Tampa Palms and Grace, RN from Hospice for their support during her journey home.

A service for Faye will be held at Southern Funeral Care on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at 11 AM with family receiving friends one hour prior. She will be laid to rest with her husband at Florida National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests you be the “hands & feet of God” by spending some time with the

elderly who may not have many family visits.

Donations may also be made to First Baptist Church of Brandon or St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church (Faye’s pew bench).
